Back in August 2025, Age UK Wiltshire held a Daytime Disco for the over 55s in Calne Town Hall. It proved to be a huge success and so they approached Calne Lions to see if we would be willing to sponsor their next event.
We were happy to contribute £450 for their upcoming Daytime Disco which was held at Calne Town Hall on Friday 16th January, 2026.
Our grant was used to pay for the venue, DJ and refreshments and allowed Age UK Wiltshire to offer this event for free to people aged over 55 in Calne.
Some of our Lions Members attended the Disco, enjoyed a dance and helped to serve refreshments. The event was well attended and enjoyed by all. Our Lion President, Alison called the event “sheer joy”!
